Lara Damiani is a renegade filmmaker her first made her mark on the film world with a investigative documentary about Tibet which saw her meeting the Dalai Lama in 2008. Recently Lara has been working on a number of different projects, including filmmaker training for indigenous children in remote Australia and she is currently pitching an upcoming documentary Banjo’s War.
We asked Lara about her unconventional route into the film industry.

Mario Andreacchio is a South Australian filmmaker who specialises in the family genre. He’s had a long career in directing, including Sally Marshall is Not An Alien, The Real Macaw, Napolean. Not to mention his television work on The New Adventures of Black Beauty, The Flying Doctors and one of my nostalgic favourites Lift Off.
His latest film The Dragon Pearl is the first official co-production between China and Australia and is screening as part of the OzAsia Festival.
